‘This examination is free of charge’-Kwara Govt Cautions School Administrators Against Collecting Money from Pupils

Kwara State government has cautioned headmasters and principals from attempting to collect money for common entrance fees from either parents or pupils saying they will be sanctioned.

According to the government, the examination which is slated for
August 19, 2023 is fully paid for by the Kwara State Government, hence free of charge for all pupils.

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development issued the warning in a statement in Ilorin on Sunday.

Aside from the warning, the statement also informed the general public that the placement examination (common entrance) into Junior Secondary Schools across the 16 local government areas of the state is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 19, 2023, beginning at 8 am prompt.

It read, “This examination is free of charge as it is fully paid for by the Kwara State Government.The Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development cautions headteachers and principals against collecting any money from pupils or their parents.

“Any head teacher or principal caught in such an unlawful act will be sanctioned accordingly,” the ministry warned.

The intending pupils are also encouraged to prepare well for the examination, as no form of malpractice will be tolerated.
