The Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, Mrs. Ranti Oluwemimo in a press statement has admonished teachers in Oyo State to take their health seriously as World’s Teachers’ Day is celebrated.
In this year theme tagged, ‘transformation of education begins with teachers”, she highlighted that to reform education; teachers must maintain good health and undergo routine medical examinations.
“Let all teachers take their health issues with all seriousness by observing regular medical check-up in recognized or specialised hospitals. We need to stay healthy and alive to be able to transform education.” She explained
Teachers in Oyo State have been urged to adapt to the evolution of education as Nigeria observes this year’s Teacher’s Day by providing effective instruction, instilling moral values, and conducting thorough and equitable evaluations of students.
Mrs. Oluwemimo, who advocated for teachers to continue performing their tasks without fear or favor, fought against test fraud, she claims, it had permeated our educational system deeply.

While appreciating Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his teacher’s friendly policies, Mrs Oluwemimo called on government at all levels to transform the lives of teachers by making lives more comfortable and putting programmes in place for training and retraining of teachers for them to be excellent transformers.
