Sporadic Shots Rock Parts of Ibadan
Chaos broke out on Tuesday morning, at Olodo, Iyana Church, Alakia Isebo areas of Ibadan following an alleged sporadic shooting by suspected members of the dissolved Oyo state park management system.
Recall, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Monday ordered the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS) chaired by Alhaji Mukaila Auxiliary with immediate effect.
The chaos has, however, been linked to the removal of the chairman of the dissolved, PMS, Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila by residents in the area as officers of the Nigeria Police Force had reportedly on Monday confiscated pump action guns, charms, and other dangerous weapons from his residence.
According to a witness, who pleaded anonymity, they woke up to the sounds of gunshots which made everybody scamper for safety.
She said all shops at Alakia area were under lock and keys following the incident.
Radio Nigeria gathered that Alhaji Mukaila is at large as the time of filling this report.
NURTW chairman of the prescribed NURTW, Mr. Abideen Olajide, popularly called Ejiogbe on his part, urged commercial drivers to be calm as the police were capable of ensuring peace in the city.
Efforts to speak with the Police relations officer, Mr. Adewale Osifeso proved abortive as he did not pick his call.
