The impersonation made by certain individuals referred to as unknown men of God has generated a lot of attention to the populace and the Christian Association of Nigeria.
It was reported that during the unveiling of the Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Sen. Kashim Shettima at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre in Abuja, certain men paraded themselves as church leaders and Bishop. It became an eyesore when members of the public recognised some of them to be mechanics, welder, and thugs among others.
In the same vein, the Christian Association of Nigeria through its General Secretary, Joseph Daramola in Abuja made it known to the public that the individuals paraded as church leaders Bishops are unknown clerics and as a result are not representatives of the association.
He added by expressing how disappointed the association is, regarding how desperate the political party and its members are to get the succor of Christians to accept muslim – muslim presidential ticket ahead of 2023 presidential election.
On the other hand, the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu claimed that the clergy men are not fake, “We want to say that those clergy men were not fake, not mechanics, or yam sellers as the purveyors of hatred have made Nigerians believe in the social media, they are not big names in Christendom yet but they are gradually building up their missions.” adding that they attended the event just as others did because it was an open event which admits everyone.
The event has continued to generate many reactions from the populace and many termed this act as being desperate to get power.
