Scarce Resources Will Again Be Used To Restore Damaged Properties- Tinubu

President Tinubu, in his address to the nation on Sunday said the government properties and public facilities destroyed during the protests will be replaced with the country’s limited resources.

Tinubu disclosed this in Abuja in response to the protest embarked upon by Nigerians against hardship and bad governance.

Recall that Nigerians across the federation started the protest on August 1.

The president who noted that among the protesters are young Nigerians who thirst for fulfilled dreams, showed disgust on the level of damage the protest had caused.

According to him, apart from the lives lost in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and other states, He said, “the destruction of public facilities in some states, and the wanton looting of supermarkets and shops, contrary to the promise of protest organisers that the protest would be peaceful across the country.

“The destruction of properties sets us back as a nation, as scarce resources will be again used to restore them.”

Tinubu, however, commiserated with the bereaved and also added that he is duty bound to protect lives and properties.
