Sanwo-Olu To Open New Lagos Roads, Bridge Network

Governor Bababjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has been scheduled to
officially commission Babafemi Dada with Bridge, Yinka Folarin – Jamiu Lawal – Shalom Academy Road Network in Alimosho Local Government Area of the State of Monday, December 16, 2024.
This development was made known by Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, today at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Omotoso noted that the governor has been consistent with road projects despite the economic meltdown.

“It is important to mention that Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, prioritized the completion of new and ongoing projects projects despite the global economic meltdown and spiralling inflation.
“Sanwo-Olu administration has completed and has earmarked for commissioning 36 Roads, five Bridges and a pedestrian Bridge to Lagosians.
“The State government as part of efforts to create sustainable communities, improve connectivity and provide effective by-pass to areas of traffic gridlocks, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Administration has completed the Babafemi Dada With Bridge Projects, in Alimosho LGA, and the project will be commissioned by Mr Governor on Monday.” He said
The Commissioner also added that Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat thought it through to provide not only a reinforced concrete bridge but also the approach roads connecting Igando and Ayobo communities.
Babafemi Dada with Bridge-Yinka Folarin-Jamiu Lawal-Shalom Academy Road Network in Alimosho Local Government Area is a 1.57Km long semi-rigid pavement road with 250m Deck on Pile Bridge will provide a shorter route for motorists connecting LASU-IBA road (Idowu Egba bus stop) with Candos road (Academy bus stop) in Baruwa community.
Recall that Governor Sanwo-Olu while had urged landlords and land owners in the state to shun temptation of increasing rents and cost of landed property for development following construction of motorable road infrastructure executed by his administration in the communities.
Sanwo-Olu gave the charge last Monday, while commissioning Abiola Onijemo Link Road with Bridge, at Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area, aimed to improve the quality of lives of residents . The road also serves as link to several communities in the area, which were hitherto difficult to reach.
The governor, while handing over the infrastructure, delivered by the Ministry of Works and office of Infrastructure, also charged residents to take ownership of the newly delivered projects.
He said the 643 meter road, including a 135 meter reinforced concrete bridge with retaining walls,which featured 7.3 meter carriageways links five communities, Abiola, Ajayi, Ogba, Obawole and Iju Ishaga.
Sanwo-Olu said the completion of the project was a fulfillment of the promise he and his party made to the electorate when canvassing for their vote.
