Protest: Oyo State Workers Demand to See Makinde Over Salary Review

Oyo State workers on Monday blocked the State secretariat in a peaceful protest to air their complaints to the Governor on payment of salary deduction, upward review of pension allowances among others.
As early as 8: 00 am, today, the workers blocked the major entrance into the government secretariat also demanding for the payment of gratuities to retirees who have stagnated since the year 2021and release of promotion letters for the Years 2021 and 2022.

They however, preferred Governor Seyi Makinde to personally address them over issues affecting workers in the state than a representative.
Participating in the protest are workers and pensioners under the banners of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and their affiliates.

No official is yet to address the protesting workers at of time of filling this report.
