President Tinubu Mourns Former Golden Eaglets Coach, Brodericks-Imasuen

President Bola Ahmed- Tinubu in a condolence message has mourned the death of a Nigerian football coach, Mr. Sebastian Brodericks-Imasuen.

In a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the football icon was described as one who brought hope and inspired national pride through his industry, devotion, and diligence on and off the pitch.

Tinubu further sympathised with the Imasuen family, the football community, the government of Edo State, and all those who mourn this agonising loss while praying for the repose of the soul of the departed.

Brodericks-Imasuen was a footballer-turned-coach. He led Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to victory at the inaugural FIFA U-16 World Championship in China in 1985.

Brodericks-Imasuen, 85, was announced dead on Wednesday after he reportedly suffered from Ischemic stroke and diabetes.

Ischemic stroke occurs when a blood clot blocks or narrows an artery leading to the brain.
