A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has bemoaned the cruel attack in Plateau State on Christmas Eve.
The lawmaker on X picked on one of the gory scenes and described it as horrific.
Sani tweeted that he watched the video of the outcome of the massacre in Plateau, adding that the scene of a baby crying on the back of the corpse of his/her mother was horror.
Speaking further, the lawmaker expressed that the sad incident is one of the most cruel and evil acts of inhumanity he has ever seen.
Sani wrote, “I watched the video of the outcome of the Massacre in Plateau State. This is one of the most cruel and evil acts of inhumanity I’ve ever seen. Should we condemn it and unequivocally demand justice or should we continue with the complicit practice of the deodorisation of mass murder using religious or ethnic sentiments?
“The scene of a baby crying on the back of the corpse of its mother is a horror that should haunt the conscience of every responsible citizen of this country.”
Recall on the eve of Christmas, assailants attacked over fifteen communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the state.
The terrorists butchered several residents and set houses on fire alongside the looting of farm produce, and the destruction of properties.
The State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on Tuesday, however, disclosed on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily that the death toll in the Christmas Eve attacks in the state is more than 115.
