PHOTOS: Dangote Truck Rams Into Houses in Iseyin After Brake Failed
Iseyin residents in Oyo State are full of thanks on Sunday afternoon after a haulage truck belonging to the popular Dangote Cement company plowed its way into peoples’ houses in Iseyin local government area with no casualties.
The Chronicler Newspaper who was at the scene reports that the incident was attributed to a loss in the truck’s brake system.
It added the people who gathered to rescue residents of the affected buildings saw the truck driver and his companion commonly called ‘motor-boy’ jump out and vanish into the thin air upon seeing the havoc wrecked.
One of the witnesses said, “The vehicle’s brake system was out of control and you can see that the road is sloppy along Iseyin Road, they jumped out and ran away,”.
Another woman ‘Mama Dele’ whose shop was grossly affected admitted that she was saved from the incident because she went to church, or else she would have been consumed.
The residents also believed that the driver and his companion fled perhaps they felt there were casualties.
At the time of filing this report, the driver of the truck and his mate have yet to show up at the scene, although, the people said they must have gone to the police to report the case.
