Nigerian Spoken Word Artist, Dike Chukuwumerije
One of the campaign signatures of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his vice Datti-Ahmed is Mega Rallies. The party’s mega rallies have continued to take turns and generate waves across the states in Nigeria with a view of achieving success in the 2023 Presidential elections. The rallies which began as a reaction of Nigerian youths towards bad governance has now evolved to a spontaneous admiration towards the candidate who gives them hope in terms of having a unique style of administration in terms of politics, business, good education, social, health, and security among others.
This style has continued to grow from a million march upwards with many social media influencers, and public figures like Kate Henshaw, Kenneth Okonkwo, Aisha Yesufu, amongst many others showing their supports with their slogan of we no dey collect shishi and also identifying as Obidients or Obicentric. His supporters, majorly youths are known to go against bad leadership, Corruption and Terrorism and other vices.
Dike Chukuwumerije, a Nigerian Spoken Word Artist on Saturday took to his media space to publicly declare that he is for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate; Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Ahmed after he had earlier participated at the Abuja Mega Rally.
“The Abuja Mega Rally for Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed lived up to its name. The 11km walk from Unity Fountain to City Gate was energizing…” He says
The seasoned writer went further to proclaim that such a rally to him is a civic duty, thus encouraging Nigerians to choose a candidate who stands sure to reflect the people’s hopes for their country.
“It’s a civic duty. Don’t sit this one out. Pick a candidate that comes closest to reflecting your hopes for your country. One vote is worth a thousand protests. For me? This is my own choice.” He asserts.
Many Nigerians however have their different choices as to the candidates they think will bring Nigeria out of the shambles; but Dike says Peter Obi is his choice.
