Oyo Permanent Secretaries Charged on Innovation to Uplift Education

Oyo State’s Permanent Secretaries, Inspectors General of Education, and Tutors General have been tasked by Prof.Salihu Abdulwaheed, the State’s Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technology on the need to bring innovations that will uplift the educational sector of the state.
Prof. Abdulwaheed, while hosting some Permanent Secretaries/new Inspectors General of Education and Tutors General at the Ministry, expressed a need for a symbiotic relationship between the Ministry and them.
The commissioner also lauded Governor Makinde for appointing the Tutor Generals in the State, noting that their appointments will boost the morale of professionals in the teaching profession.
He added that the Tutor Generals are expected to bring their wealth of knowledge and experience to their new positions.
Speaking further, he explained that the Makinde-led administration has prioritized education by allocating more than 18% of the State’s budget into education.
The commissioner, thereby maintained that he will continue to run an open-door policy in the Ministry, adding that getting feedback from relevant stakeholders is inevitable.
Earlier, the Head of the Team, Mr. Kareem Lukman, said the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the commissioner on his well-deserved appointment.
He explained that the visit was to acquaint the commissioner with the association and prayed for his success in office.
Similarly, the Management team of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, led by the Coordinating Director, Mr. Jacob Dairo, also paid a courtesy call to the commissioner to felicitate him on his appointment.
He expressed their readiness to join hands with the Commissioner to improve the quality of Education in the state.
In his response, the Commissioner, thanked them and sought their support and cooperation in taking the State’s education sector into greater heights.
