Oyo NNPP Debunks Members’ Defection To APC

The Oyo State chapter of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has debunked claims that its members had defected to APC during APC’s organized campaign.

In a statement signed by the Oyo state NNPP publicity secretary, Mr. Femi Olaitan Hero on Tuesday described the All Progressives Congress APC’s claim as dishonest and has buttressed the fact that APC has resumed misleading the residents of Oyo State by acting as though it is relevant.

Recall that the APC announced that over 3,000 NNPP members had left the party to join it at the beginning of the governorship campaign in Oyo town.

According to Oyo NNPP, the said declaration was false and was created to give the party unjustified notoriety and popularity.

Femi Hero asserted that the lies being circulated in public were made up by the APC and, regrettably, the decent people of the State, who had had enough by this point, were still buying into them.

The party argued that the APC’s assertion that 3,000 NNPP members switched parties during their campaign was untrue and an attempt to gain support because none of the party’s current supporters in Oyo State joined it.
