Oyo Govt Commiserates With Iwo Road- Ojoo Accident Victims

Following the fatal accident which according to the Police report claimed 16 lives along Ojoo-Iwo road axis of Ibadan, the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal has commiserated with the families affected.

Recall that a multiple accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, at Ajao Bus Stop, Opposite Bovas filling station, along Ojoo/Iwo Road, Express, Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.

Where no fewer than 16 people lost their lives leaving 17 others with various degrees of injury, our correspondent at The Pendulum Media gathered.

The acting governor stressed that the state will continue to collaborate with relevant stakekolders to minimise the recurrence of such incidence on our roads

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, top officials of the Ministry of Health have been dispatched to evaluate the condition of the victims. While government waits for their reports.

The Statement disclosed further that 16 survivors among which are 5 females, 11 males out of which 5 of them are children were taken to a private facility in Agbowo, Ibadan.

According to the Statement, “It is with a heavy heart that we address the devastating incident that has grief-stricken our community.

“We extend our sincerest condolences to the families affected by this tragic event.”

Meanwhile the Acting Governor is coordinating activities of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency (OYRTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other relevant stakeholders in order to avoid such unfortunate incidence in the future.
