OSUN POLLS: ADELEKE ADEMOLA WINS WITH 403,371 VOTES

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the PDP candidate, Senator Adeleke Ademola is the winner of the Osun Gubernatorial election conducted on Saturday.

In an election conducted in 30 local government areas in Osun State, the electoral umpire made it known according to the total votes recorded, that PDP won in 17 while APC won in 13.

Amongst the 15 political parties that participated in the election, the PDP and APC were the parties that got high votes at close range. The returning officer for the election, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe thus declared that, the PDP aspirant, Senator Ademola Adeleke got a total of 403,371 while the incumbent governor had 375,027 votes.

However, the returning officer for the election, Ogundipe said, “I declare Adeleke Ademola Jackson Nurudeen, on behalf of the chairman of INEC of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared winner and he is returned elected”

Speaking to Press men, Senator Ademola Adeleke now Governor-Elect of Osun State, has told the people of Osun to expect great things in his administration. “… the people of Osun should expect great things to come and never again will Osun state move backward but forward ever…” he said.
