Osun Police Arrest Six Suspected Armed Robbers
Six suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command along the Osun/Ile-Ife highway in the state.
The arrest took place after the police engaged the robbers in a gun duel.
Speaking to newsmen, the commissioner of Police in the state, CP Kehinde Longe, explained that they received a distress call that armed robbers were robbing motorists on the Osun/Ile-Ife highway in the night.
He said, “The policemen eventually overpowered the armed robbers and arrested some of them while others escaped into the bush with bullet wounds.”
After the suspects were paraded at the police headquarters in Osogbo, one of the suspects, Destiny Ogbona-Monday said he has always struggled to feed and survive and that forced him to join the robbery gang.
The Commissioner of Police, however, said they would be prosecuted in court.
