OstravaGoldenSpike: Tobi Amusan Finished Third at Women’s 100m Hurdles Event

World Record Holder, Tobi Amusan on Tuesday, (today) made a season’s best as she crossed the line in 12.47s, finishing third at the Women’ 100 m Ostrava Hurldes event.

Golden Spike first organised in 1961 is an annual athletics event at the Městský Stadion in Ostrava-Vítkovice, Czech Republic as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings.


Amusan, the Nigerian sprinter, was certain that she would break the 11-second barrier at the Ostrava Golden Spikes Meet and the Lausanne Diamond League this week but was defeated by Olympic Champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and Tia Jones.

Camacho-Quinn won the race in 12.42s while Tia Jones heads in 12.44s.

Nevertheless, Amusan celebrated her victory by posting a snippet of the event on her social media account.
She wrote:”God’s power is working. 🙏🏽

#OstravaGoldenSpike”

The three athletes are expected to meet again at the Lausanne Diamond League this week.
