Ondo Police Announce Restriction Of Movement Over Saturday’s LG Election

There will be a restriction of movement ahead of next Saturday’s local government elections in the state, Ogun State Police Command has announced.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to journalists by the Spokesperson of the Command, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, on Thursday.

The Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, explained that the vehicular restriction will be within the period of 0600hrs – 1600hrs on the said date for security reasons.

“Commuters who may have a reason to use the state as a passage are pre informed of the restrictions to help adjust their plans ahead of the D-day.

“However, security personnel, medics, health workers, firefighters and other essential service providers are allowed free movements to carry out their duties. Cases of Emergency are considered also for movement.” The statement read.

All eligible voters are however urged to abide by the rules guiding the electoral process while carrying out their civic duty.

The police boss concluded that adequate security has been put in place toensure smooth movement of both human and material resources during the period of the elections.
