Oct 1: FG Declares Tuesday Public Holiday
The Federal Government in a statement has declared Tuesday, October 1, as a public holiday to mark the nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this known through the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Saturday in Abuja.
The minister congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion.
He applauded the patient and hardworking Nigerian men and women, stressing that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
He emphasised the need for Nigerians to reflect on the labour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead.
Tunji-Ojo while wishing Nigerians a happy celebration, urged them to continue to be steadfast in nation-building.
