National Grid Shutdown Looms Over Ajaero Arrest

Members of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) have been put on a strike alert over the arrest of the president of the Nigeria, Joe Ajaero.

Recall earlier today, The Pendulum Media reports that Ajaero was arrested by the DSS at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Reacting to Ajaero’s arrest, NUEE demanded his immediate and unconditional release without harm.

“Nigeria is our collective country; our leaders should not make us live like slaves that cannot express themselves in our country.

“We demand the unequivocal and unconditional release of Comrade Joe Ajaero without any harm meted out to him. We are using this medium to put all our members on alert for further directives.”

The NLC had issued a notice of a red alert to the affiliate unions, warning of an impending nationwide strike and protests if Ajaero is not released.
