May 29: Twitter Removes Osinbajo’s Verification Tag
Popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter removed the verification tag on the account of former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
The removal occurred after Prof. Osinbajo changed his profile picture as he ceased to be Nigeria’s vice-president.
Twitter, however left the verification tag of former President Muhammadu Buhari whose profile picture is yet to be changed.
As at now, Osinbajo has 4.2million followers on Twitter and has tweeted 3,943 tweets while Buhari, who has 4.6million followers and has tweeted 5,872 tweets, still has his verification tag on.
Twitter special verification blue tag was designed for officials of government.
