Makinde Set To Sign N892bn 2026 Appropriation Bill Into Law

The Executive Governor of Oyo State ‘Seyi Makinde is prepared to sign the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, today, Monday, December 22, 2025.

The Pendulum Media learnt that the budget signing ceremony will be held at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office by 10.30 a.m.

This follows the passing of the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law last week by the State’s House of Assembly after a meticulous consideration.

Recall that the pacesetter governor had, on November 24, 2025, presented the 2026 Budget proposal christened the Budget of Economic Expansion, to the Assembly, with a total estimate of ₦891,985,074,480.79.

Makinde had stated at the event that the 2026 Budget is meant to build on the foundation of stability to drive productivity and inclusive growth.

Expected at the 2026 Budget signing ceremony are the Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal; Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin; and the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima.

Functionaries expected to be at the event are former Deputy Governors, Engr Hamid Gbadamosi; Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi; and Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja; Chief Mrs Mutiat Ladoja; former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, as well as the Chairman and Members of the Assembly’s Appropriation Committee.

Also billed to attend are the chairman and co-chairman of the Oyo State Elders’ Council; chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council; Oyo State Chairman of PDP; Chairman of Oyo State Local Government Chairmen; Labour Union leaders; selected religious leaders and Royal Fathers, among others.
