Onanuga Silences Critics, says Tinubu’s Statement at KadInvest7.0 was a ‘Slip’

“…Your vision, creativity and resiliency in turning a rotten situation into a bad one are necessary at this critical time…”-Tinubu

Bayo Onanuga, director of media and publicity for the All Progressive Party (APC) has penned to defend his Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the statement he made while commending, Governor Nasir El-Rufai for his transformational leadership skills in the state during the KadInvest07.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu had mentioned on Saturday at the event that the Governor of Kaduna state, El Rufai has a vision of turning situations from ‘worse to Bad’.

“…There are lots of educated derelicts, we are not going to let you run away. Your vision, creativity and resiliency in turning a rotten situation into a bad one are necessary at this critical time. That is why we are here today.” – Tinubu

This has now generated the usual battering and show of concern for Tinubu’s state of health and the future of Nigeria in years to come, by Nigerians across social media. Most of their comments hinge on the notion that the APC Presidential candidate needs to rest on account of his health, and not be engaged in Politics. Many say he is not fit to lead the country in 2023.

Nonetheless, Tinubu-Shettima’s director of media and publicity has, in a press statement stated that the error committed by Tinubu at the event was a slip of tongue, and also wasted no time to describe his critics as “mischief makers” who are idle.

“…While mischief makers went so low, we noted that the audience at KadInvest 7.0 followed Asiwaju Tinubu with rapt attention and knew he only had a slip.

We can only tell mischief makers to look for better and productive things to do with their time”. He also noted that “slips” are not unusual in life, “even among leaders of nations.”

Onanuga tries to remedy the situation by maintaining that, the APC leader who had inadvertently said Governor El-Rufai “turned a rotten situation” he met on the ground in Kaduna into “a bad one”, only meant to say “to a great one.”

KadInvest07 is the 7th edition of the Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit which was held in Kaduna for three days from Thursday to Saturday.
