JUST-IN: Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to Deliver Judgement September 6
The definite date for judgement in the three petitions challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election has been fixed for Wednesday, September 6 by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Court of Appeal Chief Registrar Umar Bangari confirmed this in a press statement on Monday, saying that adequate security would be put in place and the proceedings would be open to live broadcast by interested television stations.
Bangari added that only the invited members of political parties and the general public would be allowed into the courtroom to avoid congestion and security breaches.
The controversial 2023 general election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are being contested by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic, Party PDP, Abubakar Atiku, and his counterpart in the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi as well as that of Allied Peoples Movement, APM.
