JUST-IN: King Charles III To Postpone Public Duties Over Cancer Diagnosis- Buckingham Palace

The English Monarch, King Charles III has taken ill and diagnosed with ‘a type of cancer’, BBC reveals.

According to a statement released by Buckingham Palace, King Charles is said to have been diagnosed with a yet-to-be-disclosed type of cancer, but certainly, not prostate and he has begun treatment.

Buckingham Palace further expressed that the King will postpone his public engagements while other senior royals will stand in for him while he recovers.

However, the statement reads that King Charles III, 75 is optimistic with his treatment and can not wait to resume his official public engagements.

“remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible”. It reads.

The Palace mentioned he had a prostate procedure at a private London hospital and the BBC also claimed he was seen at a church service in Sandringham on Sunday, where he waved to crowds.

King Charles III had chosen to go public about his prostate treatment, to encourage more men to get prostate checks.

Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and destroy body tissue., the most common types are, Breast cancer, Prostate cancer, Basal cell cancer, Melanoma, Colon cancer, Lung cancer, Leukemia, and Lymphoma.

World Health Organization in a report published on 1st February 2024 said in 2022, over 20 million new cancer cases and 9.7 million deaths were recorded. It added that about 1 in 5 people develop cancer in their lifetime, and approximately 1 in 9 men and 1 in 12 women die from the disease.
