JUST-IN: Ivory Coast Defeat Super Eagles 2-1 in AFCON Finals
Ivory Coast has won the Africa Cup of Nations 2 – 1 defeating Nigeria in the final at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium.
The Super Eagles took the lead in the first half through William Troost-Ekong’s header but the Elephant came into the second half with an equalizer by Franck Kessie and another goal by Sebastian Haller.
Despite, the Super Eagles’ push to lift the trophy for the fourth time in their history, the Elephants started as the better, more aggressive team, creating chances on goal and playing with a confidence that they lacked throughout the rest of the tournament.
