JUST-IN: Finidi George Resigns As Super Eagles Coach

Finidi George has relieved himself from his position as the head coach of Nigerian Super Eagles.

His reason for resignation on Saturday can be traced to the announcement made by Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to bring in a foreign technical adviser.

George’s exit was confirmed on X by Toyin Ibitoye, former Eagles media officer.

“News just in: Finidi George @FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his @NGSuperEagles manager position.” Ibitoye wrote.

Recall, Finidi was appointed on April 29, 2024, as a replacement for Jose Peseiro, whose contract expired in February.

During his very brief tenure, the former Enyimba boss oversaw a 1-1 draw with South Africa and a 2-1 defeat to Benin Republic, both in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series.
