JUST- IN: August 1 Hardship Protest: Protesters Seen Marching Towards Presidential Villa
The road leading to the Central Business District and Presidential Villa, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT were filled with protesters on Thursday.
Hundreds of the protesters, mostly northern youths, are currently marching from Berger Junction and Wuse Market towards the Central Business District.
One of the protesters told newsmen, “We are marching to the (Presidential) Villa. Bad governance must end,”.
Most of the shops and banks at the Wuse Market were closed as a result of the protest.
Moreover, security operatives have been stationed around Wuse Market and Berger Junction.
Earlier, the police fired tear gas at protesters at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
