Independence Day: No Fancy Celebrations, Pray For Nigeria Instead- Kwara Govt
Kwara State government has declared its intention to avoid any form of elaborate celebration on Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary.
The State’s Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Bola Olukoju on Thursday, disclosed this in a terse statement.
According to Mrs. Olukoju, the reason behind the decision is to take into consideration the mood of Nigerians amid different reforms ongoing.
She said, “This is to reflect the mood of the nation amid ongoing reforms and strong efforts of the government to ensure sustainable development.
“The state government urges citizens to use the October 1 holiday to pray for the state, our country, and the world at large,”.
