Ilaji Boss, Dotun Sanusi To Mark 55th Birthday With Sickle Cell Foundation

Billionaire businessman, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, as part of activities marking his 55th birthday on October 17, 2023, will be spending ample time with members of the Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation.

During his 54th birthday last year, Sanusi, the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotels and Games Resort, Akanran Ibadan, celebrated with people with special needs.

The proprietor of Ibadan College of Arts, Science, and Technology, ICAST, Elebu, Ibadan, who was last Friday elevated from Mogaji to Jagun Olubadan of Ibadan, has always maintained that everything God has blessed him with would continue to be channeled towards putting smiles on the faces of the people.

Since Sanusi, who is the head of the Olugbade compound of Oja’ba, Ibadan, listed the Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation as one of the beneficiaries of his always-expanding philanthropic gestures, the group has recorded tremendous success in its fight against sickle cell.

Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation, established on 5th February 2018, in a letter to Sanusi, who is also the Otun Apesinola of Ibadanland, revealed that “our resources were limited at the outset, and we faced significant challenges in raising awareness and garnering the necessary funds to expand our services.

However, thanks to the generous support of donors like you, we took crucial steps toward making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by sickle cell disease.”

“Through community partnerships and outreach programs,” it said, “we have raised awareness about sickle cell disease, dispelling myths and reducing stigma. We are proud to have played a pivotal role in destigmatizing this condition.”

Calling on more influential members of the society like Sanusi to support the group, the Ibadan Sickle Cell Foundation disclosed that it has provided specialized healthcare to over 320 warriors.
