ICPC Re-Arrest Ex-JAMB Registrar, Dibu Ojerinde Over N5Billion Fraud
A former registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dibu Ojerinde has been re-arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences ICPC
The re-arrest was made on Thursday by the operatives of ICPC shortly after a hearing before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court, FHC, in Abuja where Ojerinde has been standing trial on an 18-count charge bordering on diversion of public funds to the tune of N5 billion.
An ex-deputy director of finance at JAMB and 4th prosecution witness of ICPC, Jimoh Olabisi had on Wednesday alleged at the high court in Abuja that Ojerinde used him to divert federal government funds.
News Agency of Nigeria, NAN had confirmed from a reliable source of the commission that a warrant of arrest for his re-arrest has been issued and obtained from the FHC Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho.
Previously, in July 2021, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde was arraigned by the ICPC Prof. Dibu Ojerinde on an 18-count charge which he pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was later admitted to bail in the sum of N200 million.
He was said to have committed the offence during his tenure as registrar of the National Examinations Council, NECO, and JAMB
