Hijrah 1446AH: Oyo Govt Declares Monday Work-Free Day For Celebration
The Oyo State Government has declared Monday, July 8, 2024, a work-free day to commemorate the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year, Hijrah 1446AH.
The Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike K. Adeyemo, signed a statement in which Governor Seyi Makinde urged all residents to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the state and the country at large.
The declaration is aimed at enabling Muslim faithful in the state to celebrate the significant occasion, which marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year.
All citizens are, however, urged by the government to observe the work-free day and join in the celebrations, seeking divine blessings for the state and nation.
