Gridlock: Ibadan Motorists, Commuters Frown at Day-Time Repairs

Road users featuring motorists, motorcyclists, and commuters plying Oluyole Extension/7up road in the Oyo state capital, Ibadan have been experiencing difficulties navigating their way since the beginning of the week.

Our reporter gathered that the road had been witnessing unusual gridlock as a result of a diversion of motorists and motorcyclists coming from Sharp Corner/Oluyole Estate road.

According to reports, the Oyo state government had commenced some repair works on a bridge over the weekend which led to the road diversion.

Reacting, the road users while engaging our reporter lamented how difficult it had been plying the road since the beginning of the week as they have been getting to their workplaces late.

The motorists and commuters thus frowned at the decision of the Oyo state government in embarking on such repairs in the daytime, describing it as an insensitive decision.

They, however, called on the government to fast-track the repair works for traffic flow to return to normalcy.
