Govt Declares Friday, Public Holiday To Honour Late First Lady

A work- free day has been declared by the Akwa Ibom State Government to honour the State’s First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno who passed.
In a statement dated Wednesday, November 27, Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah disclosed Friday, November 29 as a Holiday to honour her.
The state government had announced the death of the First Lady after a brief illness in a hospital on September 26.
“Further to the final home-going programme of our departed First Lady, Her Excellency, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, the Akwa Ibom State Government in consultation with the bereaved family has declared Friday, 29th November, 2024 Work-Free Day in honour of our dear mother.
“This is to enable Akwaibomites and other residents to pay their last respects to our mother at her obsequies in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area on that day.
“May the gentle soul of our departed First Lady find repose in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.” Uwah said.
