
The Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has commenced the payment of a 13th-month salary of civil servants in the state.
The pacesetter governor had indicated on Wednesday that the essence of the payment is to make the workers smile by paying a 13th-month salary before January 2023.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, staff members are expected to start getting alerts latest by Friday evening.
He, however, x-rayed the persistence and dedication of Governor Seyi Makinde toward the welfare of his worker’s salaries since his resumption as the state governor in 2019.
The commissioner asserts that the present administration, under Governor Seyi Makinde would never toy with the welfare of civil servants despite the dwindling economy in the country.
“One of the successes of the Seyi Makinde-led government is the uninterrupted payment of staff salaries
“Recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde has stayed committed to uninterrupted payment of salaries and 13th-month salaries since he became Governor”, he said
Oyo State Government is one of the few state governments that have continued to pay the minimum wage without failure.
