Fuel/Naira Crisis: Ogun Govt. Distributes Food Items to Residents

In a bid to alleviate the effects of fuel and naira scarcity, the Ogun state government has finalized the arrangements to distribute 400,000 food items to the vulnerable residents of the state.

Ogun governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun at a press conference in Abeokuta, pointed out that the newly appointed Social Investment Officers would begin the distribution of the food items today, Saturday 11th February.

While expressing optimism that the social intervention program would provide the needed succor to the people of the state, especially in the face of the cash and fuel scarcity, Governor Abiodun apologized to the residents for the hardship and inconveniences the naira swap policy had caused them

He, however, appealed to the security agencies to handle the situation with more professionalism and deeper maturity.

Speaking further, Governor Abiodun explained that his administration is working hard to tackle the naira scarcity and also taking steps to facilitate the adequate supply of petroleum products to designated filling stations across the state.
