President Donald Trump on his first full day in office, fired four senior government officials appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden.
Trump made the announcement early on Tuesday via Truth Social warning that “over a thousand more” might suffer the same fate.
Trump wrote; “My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,”.
The officials were Jose Andres, from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, Mark Milley, from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook, from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms, from the President’s Export Council.
Tagging his post, with his popular signature phrase, “YOU’RE FIRED!”, Trump warned that the dismissal of the four officials should serve as a deterrent to others.
“Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more coming soon,” He added.
The decision marked the first step in what is expected to be a dramatic overhaul of government personnel as Trump moved swiftly to remove officials he believes
were working against his administration’s policies.
