Football Was Chaotic For Me In Norway – Victor Boniface
In the latest episode of Mikel Obi’s podcast, Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface expressed how he had many lows to ups with football while in Norway.
The Nigerian footballer also noted that he almost gave up on soccer
at 21 after sustaining an injury two weeks after signing with Norwegian club, FK Bodø/Glimt in 2019.
“I spent about three years in Norway. We won the league twice and came second one time. But football-wise, it was chaotic for me. It was really bad for me. I think I have more bad stories than good stories there.
“But that’s life, you know. I got an ACL injury two weeks after signing in Norway. I almost quit football at the age of 21.” He said.
Describing his bad stories as ‘chaotic’ during the interview, Boniface revealed he was a midfielder before moving to Europe and also wondered why
he frequently picks up injuries whenever important matches come.
Recall that The Pendulum Media reported that the striker sustained a groin injury while in training at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and was ruled out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON.
On his X handle, he sadly wrote: “U20 Nations Cup got injured 7 days before Nations Cup.
“Super Eagles got injured 6 days before Nations Cup.
“Na Only God Knows why.”
