Fire Incident: UCH Management Debunks Speculation on Trapped Patients, says, ‘Everything is Under Control’
Following the fire which gutted the Theatre section of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, the authorities of the hospital allayed the fear of residents in a press session.
Recall that The Pendulum Media reported on the fire incident at the hospital on Saturday.
Reacting, UCH Chief Medical Director, Professor Abiodun Otegbayo in an interview explained that immediately after the incident started, the authorities alerted three different fire services which quickly mobilized their resources and rushed to the scene to put off the inferno.
Otegbayo added that contrary to speculation no patient was trapped in the inferno which affected part of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and one of the theatres.
While assuring, relatives and families of patients that everything is under control, the authorities noted that services have since commenced through immediate alternative arrangements.
