Nigerian Wrestler, Odunayo Adekuroye
Adekuoroye, a three-time reigning Commonwealth Games champion in wrestling has testified of a healed shoulder injury at the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry, Nigeria on Sunday.
Her appearance at the alter triggered a loud roar from the congregation as the announcer informed them about her personality as the ‘Commonwealth gold medalist in weight lifting’ he said, “Give God a very beautiful, praise the Lord! She is one of us here” he announced proudly.
Odunayo Adekuroye informed the congregation of how she had an injury on her shoulder last year at the Olympics and then thought she was done with wrestling.
“I went for the Olympics, games, I got injured, I had a shoulder injury. I thought I could never wrestle again, I was so sad I lost at the Olympics games”
She went on to say while she cried, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honourable Sunday Dare somehow got the attention of Dr. D.K Olukoya’s in her case who called to tell her God has good things in store for her. “…and when Baba called me, he sent me a message that if you know what God has for you, you won’t be crying. That God is busy preparing something good for me and immediately my mood changed.”
Odunayo revealed how the doctors and physiotherapists had checked her shoulder finding nothing for months in Lagos and this made her run back to the man of God informing him of how the shoulder has refused to heal thus, fearing for her career.
The 29- year old went on to say, she was prayed for and giving an anointing oil to rub on the shoulder and declared she received her healing immediately. “… Baba gave me an anointing oil that I should go and rub it on my shoulder even up till today, the doctors, the physiotherapists are still asking if I could still use my hand, because I can’t raise it up but immediately I applied that anointing oil to the glory of God, I can use my hand.”
” while I was using the oil, I told God, if I can use this hand again in that stage in Commonwealth games, if you can make me a 3 times gold medalist, first in the history of Nigeria and Africa at large, I will sing on that mat to you.
She declared that God made it happened and strongly believes in the God of MFM.
“I went to the God of MFM. He has been there for me, even this Commonwealth games, my president, everyone, they believed I can’t retain my title again. …I won all my bouts 10-10-0. Some couldn’t last 20 seconds; sometimes, I look at myself, ‘Odunayo you think it’s you? No. It’s the God of MFM. I want everyone to stand up and dance to the God of Dr. D.K Olukoya!” She said.
Odunayo also revealed how her president had begged her to go to Turkey after the games and she went again and won another gold. The sanctuary was agog with smiles and shouts of Halleluyah celebrating what the Lord has done.
Wrestler, Odunayo Adekuoroye had defeated her Indian opponent Anshu Malik 6-4 in the 57kg Freestyle category and also defeated Canada’s Hannah Taylor in the semis in a swashbuckling 10-0 victory at the finals making her the reigning 3 -time African gold medal champion.
