Nigeria entertainer and lawyer, Folarin Falana aka Falz on Thursday led a procession in remembrance of the event of the massacre that happened at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
In commemoration of the second-year memorial of the EndSARS shooting, Youths were seen clad in black costumes at the toll gate with blood-stained Nigeria flags chanting solidarity songs, saying they can never forget the traumatic incident.
Addressing the youths, Falana who spoke in Pidgin, said that the Nigerian Government denied having a hand in the shooting and that is unacceptable to the youths.
He noted that their gathering is not political rather, it is to remember the Nigerian fallen heroes.
However, he pointed out that they decided to make dummy coffins which he described as symbolic, saying the coffins are the government’s property.
” Government of Nigeria deny say im happen, but we will never let that happen… but abeg I no wan make we cause trouble for her. We no wan make anybody say dis move na political anytin and we no wan dey here, make we just block the road for anybody. So these coffins wey dey here make we carry am go Tollgate. These coffins are very symbolic. Na there wey dem kill our people, so we go drop these coffins for them. Na dem get am.”
Mr. Macaroni, a popular online skit maker was also among other personalities seen at the procession.
In October 2020, Falz called on some Nigerian celebrities to join the #EndSARS protests in Lagos, to call on the government to put a lasting end to police brutality in Nigeria.
