Eid-el-Kabir: Use The Holiday To Reaffirm National Growth–Makinde
Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has urged Nigerians to utilise the holiday period to stay committed to the growth and development of Nigeria.
The Governor, represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal after the Eid prayers in Ibadan acknowledged the challenges that the nation has faced in recent times.
Emphasising the importance of cohesion and unity during this period of celebration, Makinde urged citizens to use the holiday as a reminder of the strength of Nigeria when united.
“Eid-el-Kabir is a time to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, kindness, and mercy, all of which are essential to building a thriving nation. Let us use this holiday as an opportunity to reaffirm our dedication to the growth and development of Nigeria.” He said.
The governor also emphasised the importance of tolerance and understanding, as he called for peace among different ethnic and religious groups in the state and the country at large.
He equally called on people in the state to remain committed to the state development project being championed.
Makinde noted that the state now ranks among the best states in Nigeria due to the support and cooperation enjoyed from the people and therefore, called for a self re-dedication towards collectively making the state more prosperous.
The governor, then solicited more support from the Muslim community and people of the state, while calling for a re-dedication to the collective aspirations of the pacesetter state.
