Don’t Move To Canada Without Proper Documentation, FG Cautions Nigerians
The Federal Government has cautioned Nigerians against embarking on any journey abroad without proper documentation.
Spokesperson of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abdur-Rahman Balogun on Thursday expressed in a
a statement that the NiDCOM Boss, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, urged Nigerians travelling abroad to go legitimately with proper documentation to avoid unpleasant situations.
Balogun pointed out that Dabiri-Erewa visited some Nigerians in one of the shelters in Brampton, Canada, and sympathised with them.
She, however, advised others planning to travel without proper documentation to put an end to it as the situation is getting tougher in many countries.
“It is just not worth it, more often than not,” she was quoted as saying.
According to the statement, the owner of Bethel Food Bank, Vivian Eruka,
promised to make 800 more beds and shelter available for the asylum seekers while Mr. Wale Rabiu, owner of Matlock bakery donated hundreds of loaves of bread to the shelter inmates.
In a telephone conversation, Daily Trust revealed that Dabiri-Erewa only visited one out of many asylum shelters scattered across Canada.
