Court Nullifies Impeachment of Former Ondo Deputy Speaker

The impeachment of the former Ondo Deputy Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Rt. Hon lroju Ogundeji has been nullified by a High court sitting in Akure.

The court also ordered his immediate reinstatement as the assembly’s deputy speaker.

Ogundeji was impeached last year by the members of the assembly who accused him of gross misconduct.

According to the House, Hon. Ogundeji’s conduct was perceived to have brought disrepute to the assembly. As a result, the House immediately replaced him with Samuel Aderoboye from Odigbo as the deputy speaker.

Dissatisfied with the resolution of the house, Ogundeji, who represents Odigbo Constituency 2, approached the court to nullify his impeachment.

As a result of the ruling, he has been reinstatement and Hon. Samuel Aderoboye, who is presently the deputy speaker has been asked to stop parading himself as the deputy speaker.
