Three persons have been declared dead while fifteen people sustained varying degrees of injuries in a crash that occurred around Kara bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Abeokuta, Ogun state, revealed in a statement that 18 male adults were involved in the crash.
The accident which occurred around ten minutes to six this morning, involved a bus marked AYB 88 XP and a truck with no registration number on it.
She attributed the cause of the crash to excessive speed from the bus driver who made an attempt to overtake the truck, lost control, and hit the truck in the rear but the truck did not stop
According to Mrs. Okpe, the injured victims were taken to a private Hospital for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at a private hospital morgue, Sagamu.
The FRSC officer added that the Sector Commander, Mr. Ahmed Umar has also advised drivers against reckless driving, especially during the festive season
