Can This Government Take Fuel Prices Back To The Old Price Too?Nigerians React To Old National Anthem

President Bola Tinubu’s signing of the old national anthem bill into law has met some criticisms following the speed at which it was passed.

Recall the President, on Wednesday morning signed the bill which was introduced in the Senate and the House of Representatives last week
into law.

While launching the National Anthem at the National Assembly, Tinubu told the lawmakers that there is a need to come together to build the nation.

He said, “Please, let’s continue to collaborate and build our country. We have no other institutions or personality that will help us unless we do it ourselves. Let us work together to build our nation not only for us but generations yet unborn”, he said.

The old anthem whose lyrics starts with, ‘Nigeria, We Hail Thee’, was composed by the Britons, and used for 18 years beginning from independence until 1978, when it was replaced by a new anthem, ‘Arise, O Compatriots.’

However, Nigerians have began to react to the new anthem as it replaces the generally used anthem with the lyrics, ‘Arise, O Compatriots’.

Some netizens appreciated Tinubu’s insight on the change while others criticised it as unnecessary compared to pressing economic issues bedeviling the country.
