BREAKING: Tinubu Replaces Aziz, Appoints Coker-Odusote as NIMC’s New DG

President Bola Tinubu has replaced the Director-General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, with Bisoye Coker-Odusote.

In a statement signed by presidential spokesperson Ajure Ngelale, the president on Tuesday gave Aziz an order to commence a 90-day pre-retirement leave which takes effect on August 24, 2023, leading to Aziz’s eventual retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

Tinubu has also approved the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the acting Director-General and CEO of NIMC for a 90-day period.

According to the statement, Odusote’s appointment takes effect on August 24, 2023, after which a full term of four years will begin as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO on November 24, 2023.

Moreover, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub as the Director and CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC).

This follows the recent expiration of the tenure of the former DTAC Director and CEO, Dr Pius Osunyikanmi.

This appointment takes immediate effect.
