Breaking: Labour Party, Dino Melaye and Others Call for Cancellation of the 2023 Presidential Election.

Party agents of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Dino Melaye, and other party agents including the Labour party have staged a protest by walking out of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC National Collation Center in Abuja to question the validity of the results.

The aggrieved party agent for the PDP, Senator Dino Melaye in an interview with pressmen, stated that he does not understand why INEC prefers to announce the election results manually when the commission could have uploaded the results to their server for everyone to see.

“We are Nigerians and we all know that there is nowhere on the server that results have been uploaded they are now saying we should wait for the process to be completed before you will review knowing fully well there once a declaration is done, there can’t be any review but court. So, we are completely dissociating ourselves from the process and that is why we have staged a walkout.”

“We have records of where BVAS were not used, what is difficult in the INEC Chairman showing the uploaded results so that we can compare and interrogate that but they cannot upload it because they know that what they are going to upload will be at variance. INEC has rigged the 2023 elections.

“We express the unfortunate politicization and commercialization of our electoral process and we are saying that INEC is compromised, APC has influenced INEC” – He said

Moreover, the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council Labour Party, Akin Osuntokun in Abuja also spoke on their dissatisfaction with the process in that despite the frequent declarations of the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on his promises of a free and fair election before Nigerians and the global community, the process has been jeopardized by not following through with efficient use of the BVAS.

“What has become glaring is that none of these promises have been kept. All the promises made about deploying a fair safe system anchored on the BVAS technology are broken”

He noted “the internet and social media is a filled with videos and photographic evidence of the pervasive violence and attacks that were visited on Nigerians with sabotage still going on in the country as we speak. The evidence of collusion between INEC and the security forces to subvert the will of the people is too numerous to be detailed here”

Adding that, the INEC guidelines on the conduct of the elections have been breached and the commission has refused to remedy the situation.

However, he expressed that they have lost confidence in the collated results being announced as he believes that the results have been compromised.

“We, however, call on INEC to suspend the further announcement of the results and follow its guidelines to completely cancel the entire election and make plans for another election with strict compliance with the stipulated laws and guidelines.”

Moreover, in a developing event, some other political party agents to include, including the AAC, and Boot party among others have distanced themselves from the walkout led by the Labour Party and Dino Melaye of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

They individually addressed the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, before the commencement of another session on the declaration of the Presidential election results; saying
” We are not part of any walk-out”.

Meanwhile, the session has now resumed for a continued reel of the Presidential election results.
