Be Vigilant: Akande-Sadipe Alerts Nigerians Against Fake Social Media Account

1 year ago Abd'Rahaman Afolabi

House of Representatives member, Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has urged the general public to take caution on a fake social media handle opened in her name.

The Federal lawmaker who represents the Oluyole federal constituency at the House of Representatives made this known in a statement in Abuja on Monday.

Hon. Akande-Sadipe’s media aides disclosed that some individuals opened a Facebook account in her name and have been defrauding people.

In the statement, Nigerians are advised to unfollow the page and avoid any form of communication with the impostors.

It reads, “We find it necessary to bring a matter of utmost importance to your attention, that some unscrupulous individuals are attempting to deceive and defraud innocent citizens online using the name of our beloved representative Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe.

“This is a call to every member of our community to take immediate action by unfollowing and reporting a specific Facebook account, a Facebook page fraudulently operated under the name of Hon. Tolulope Tiwalola Akande-Sadipe.

You can find the fraudulent account by clicking this link: Unfollow and Report”.

“Furthermore, we have identified the phone number 08158340624 as associated with this scammer and strongly advise against any communication or transactions with this number.”

“It is essential to clarify that no elected representative or government official would ever request payment from individuals in exchange for government benefits because such actions are not only fraudulent but also against the fundamental principles of our democratic institutions.”

“Should you have any legitimate inquiries or concerns, we encourage you to contact our official channels through the appropriate government offices or our authorized representatives.”

“We implore everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious accounts or individuals engaged in fraudulent activities. By taking this action, you contribute to the protection of your fellow citizens from potential harm.”

“Your vigilance and dedication to the safety and security of our community are highly appreciated. Together, we can preserve the welfare and well-being of all of us”.
