The Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola has presented Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the newly appointed traditional rulers in the state.
Oyetola said the monarchs are not only custodians of culture and tradition but stakeholders in all things that are developmental to their domains.
He stated that there is a need to hold traditional rulers in high esteem because according to him, they are the veritable link between the government and the people.
The newly appointed traditional leaders are;
Akin of Ikirun,
Oba Olalekan Yinusa Akadiri
Oba Oyedunade Oluwabukola Akosile, as the Alaje Olopon Ajegunle Igangan-Ijesa, and others.
The Governor who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant t to the governor on Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rasaq Adeosun said the government of Osun will continue to accord d them the unflinching support they deserve.
He therefore acknowledged support of traditional institutions to his administration, noting that their support has been remarkably overwhelming.
“I want to implore the new monarchs to work together with other monarchs for the progress of the state and the people of your towns.”
His Excellency then charged the people of the state to be security conscious in their domains not only for themselves but their subjects.
In separate interviews, the monarchs appreciated the governor for the presentation of the staff office and instrument appointment.
